Stuart Benjamin & Co. is made up of a small but very distinguished and knowledgeable staff that closely caters to clients looking for uniquely designed and crafted jewelry. We offer a no-pressure setting that allows our clients time to enjoy their visit, and we are more than happy to assist you with any questions you might have. Our service and integrity have been rewarded by becoming an American Gem Society (AGS) store, for which only 5% of jewelry stores in the nation qualify. That means you can feel confident with your purchase and know that we stand behind you and our jewelry!

Stuart’s love of jewelry started at the young age of 10, dusting the showcases of his grandfather’s jewelry store in Downtown San Diego. Growing up in the business has allowed Stuart to build many strong relationships within the city as well as actively participate in the jewelry industry. Stuart is currently the President of the California Jewelers Association.

Barbara Wasserstrom began her career in jewelry at 21 in Columbus, Ohio. Sharing Stuart’s love of jewelry and all things that sparkle, they decided to join together and open their own store in 1997. With over 30 years in the industry, Barbara is a founding member, as well as past President, of the Women’s Jewelry Association in San Diego and an active member in several organizations.

Jeff Teel, a graduate from the Gemological Institute of America (GIA) and with several years within the watch industry, brings another aspect and design to Stuart Benjamin & Co. Jeff looks forward to continuing his education and improving his knowledge of the jewelry industry.

And rounding out our staff, with 30 years experience on the bench, Maurice Patton is our onsite Master Jeweler. His talent and technique of hand fabricating jewelry is truly unparalleled and expertly executed.
